Come gather to celebrate grassroots organizing and meet the founders of For The People. Show up for Antonio Zamora, who relentlessly gives solidarity to many communities struggling against killer cops, climate change, and fascism.
This fundraiser will immediately support direct action and help build community resilience to fight climate change and late-stage capitalism, regionally and globally. All funds acquired will be supporting full-time community organizing and activism in the Portland area and internationally, because organizing for another world to be possible beyond climate change and fascism is an international struggle. Solidarity is required everywhere.
Two of our speakers are Chiara and Letty. Chiara is a community organizer born and raised in the Salish Sea region and is passionate about the protection and restoration of local ecosystems. At a young age, Chiara began connecting the dots between the health of local ecosystems and the decisions people in positions of power were making. Now, with a degree in systems thinking for ecosystem health, Chiara is dedicating her life to transforming human systems to protect and restore ecosystems.
Letty is an urban farmer and dog worker. They grew up in Chicago and have a background in community health education and community advocacy. They have been living in Portland for six years and have been farming for two seasons.
After the program, we’ll have time for social mixing activities i.e., open mic, karaoke, smashing pinatas, and delicious foods. The event will have occasional live music and a locally organic sourced dinner with vegan and gluten-free options.
Reserve your spot for Antonio Zamora’s launch event Saturday, October 12.
We hope to see you there!
