OCA to Clallam Commissioners:

Let our older forests be a Natural Climate Solution

OCA President Ed Bowlby delivered this message to the Clallam County Commissioners, responding to comments made by timber advocates opposing Clallam County’s participation in the Natural Climate Solutions fund to set aside “structurally-complex, carbon-dense” forests that pre-date industrial plantation forestry, and to replace those lands in trust beneficiaries’ portfolios with lands of equal value. In the letter, OCA points out the multiple benefits of this program and the few downsides.
