David Large and Janis Burger will participate in the National Solar Tour sponsored by the nonprofit American Solar Energy Society. Despite its name, the Solar Tour is not solar-specific but rather covers all aspects of climate-friendly living: homes, vehicles, and landscaping.

Janis Burger will demonstrate both solar electric and direct solar hot water systems, strawbale construction, rainwater collection for an extensive garden, and native plantings.
Time: 9 am — 5 pm,
Location: 173 Griffith Farm Road, Sequim
David Large will provide tours of his net-zero passive house that requires very little power and yearly generates more energy on-site than the house and electric car need. If he were paying for power, his average monthly usage cost for heating the house would be less than ten dollars. This year they added battery storage to the system.
Both Janis and Dave will be happy to answer questions regarding their houses as well as any projects attendees may be considering.
