Dr. Bond’s presentation will cover the past, present and future climate of the Pacific Northwest with a focus on its impacts on the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. The types of events considered include heat waves, cold snaps, droughts, river and coastal flooding and wind storms.
Dr. Bond is a principal research scientist with the Climate Impacts Group (CIG) of the University of Washington. He has been the climatologist for the state of Washington from 2010 to 2024.
