Mangrove conservation in Rio de Janeiro can prevent climate disasters
Over the past four years, the Green Guanabara Project in Rio de Janeiro has restored a huge area of mangroves, planting 30,000 trees in Guanabara Bay, PBS reports.

Iceland has a climate president! On June 2, Iceland elected climate leader  Halla Tómasdóttir . She is a member of Project Dandelion, an inspiring women-led global campaign for climate justice. Before running for president, Halla was the CEO of The B Team. In her 2021 TED Talk, she calls on people to use their “voice, vote and wallet for climate action.”  Research consistently shows women leaders are more likely to support climate action, clean energy, and sustainability.  More: In Iceland, a huge vacuum set to suck carbon
