Hello all,
I hope 2019 is off to a good start for you.
Our first monthly call of the year is coming up on Wednesday, Jan. 9 (5:00 pm PT / 8:00 pm ET): Engaging Youth and Families in Climate Action. You can register for the 2019 monthly call series here–please note that everyone will need to register, even if you have participated in monthly calls before.
On Wednesday we’ll hear from Mary DeMocker, co-founder of 350 Eugene and author of The Parents’ Guide to Climate Revolution, and Abby Mnookin, Mother Up! Coordinator for 350Vermont. Mary and Abby will speak from their experience as parents and organizers to:
– Provide inspiration, tips
and practical ideas for how local groups can better engage families and
youth in climate justice work and build a more intergenerational
movement
– Address common concerns and barriers to family and youth involvement, and understand these from parents’ perspectives
– Show the practical effectiveness of engaging young people and parents, especially moms
– Demonstrate how parents and youth are powerful voices in advocating for the health and safety of our collective future.
There will be plenty of time for Q&A with Abby and Mary so come with questions.
You can register here to join the call. You’ll get an email from Zoom with information about how to join via video conference or phone. Our monthly calls are open to any members of your local 350 group, so feel free to invite others.
