COVID-19 and Climate Connections May 2020

I’d make this distinction between the
“flatten the curve challenges” of CoV-2 vs. CO2

The former involves a dramatic shutdown of economic activity, which tends to hurt people most who are already the least privileged,

whereas the latter involves a dramatic shift of economic activity,
which offers the possibility of helping the most marginalized in our society
experience more equal opportunity.

So, we don’t want to reduce emissions by putting people out of work;
rather, we want to put people to work reducing emissions.
